a sort of "mini essay."

FINAL NOTE: You are encouraged to cite specific lines of text from the materials to reinforce a
point you are trying to make. On the other hand, you do not want to overuse quotes because
doing so can convey that you are being a lazy writer. In short, most of the posting�s text should
be written in your own voice, but use quoted material judiciously to add emphasis.
Drawing from your knowledge of the Hirji article on Russell Peters, the Race and Humor
documentary (see YouTube playlist), and the lecture notes, please answer the following:
1. Based on video clips #5-12 in the week 11 YouTube playlist, do any Asian American comedians
ever cross the line into reinforcing�rather than subverting or critiquing�stereotypes of racial &
ethnic groups? [discuss at least 5 of the 8 video clips] How might viewers know when such a line
has been crossed? [answer in roughly 1-2 paragraphs]
2. Given his racial (that is, physical) outsider status when compared to most East and Southeast
Asians, why do you think Russell Peters is able to make fun of Asian groups that he is not a part of?
Would a White or Black comedian be able to �get away� with telling the same jokes? Why or
